Construction time lapse for MACH Energy

Providing construction time lapse services in the Hunter region

The MACH Energy Mount Pleasant Operation’s Rail 2 Project saw an opportunity to capture the construction of a new rail bridge, a viaduct, a train load-out, and a conveyor system over two years through construction time lapse photography.

As the only company in the Hunter and Upper Hunter Valley offering time lapse photography backed by years of experience and knowledge, they reached out to us to capture a variety of shots for the project.

Our construction time lapse photography expertise

Quality imagery is invaluable to organisations in the mining and rail industry. It shows stakeholders the real progress and true value of the operations they undertake.

External Relations Manager, Ngaire Baker described our unique ability to understand the requirements of the imagery required for the project.

“Firebug Photography has a diverse background in time lapse photography and are exceptionally good at managing stakeholder expectations.”

The Rail 2 Project was a unique and challenging task due to the nature of the construction work and the scale of the project.

Our team came prepared for the task after reviewing the requirements and attended the site frequently to adjust and move cameras when required. We used four to five time lapse cameras on the major infrastructure build of the new rail loop and coal loader to capture the footage.

The end result of construction time lapse imagery

Capturing complex construction time lapse presents many challenges, and the Rail 2 Project was no different for our team.

The Rail 2 Project was constructed throughout the COVID-19 pandemic which saw an array of challenges, globally.

Whilst this was a key challenge in the development of the construction time lapse, the footage was able to be used to remotely report on progress and delays due to the pandemic, something that is vital in the mining industry.

“We were able to share with executive management, directors and board members the challenges and successes we had in real time. Weekly reporting including time lapse sequences enhanced the reporting process and it was extremely well received,” Ngaire said.

Having worked with MACH Energy for more than five years, we understand the importance of capturing the processes behind everything they do and ensuring that their imagery is current and aids the tracking of progress.

“The footage was invaluable to us, and due to Allen’s expertise, the end result was impeccable.”

We have worked with MACH Energy on a number of occasions, providing drone photography, stills and video services. This has helped them to capture content for corporate videos, insurance footage, mine expansion approval, and promotional purposes.
